Between 24 January and 7 February, the Abbot President visited several Benedictine fathers and brothers living in Huambo, Angola. The visit was full of meetings with Benedictine and Trappist nuns and with the church hierarchy, including the Apostolic Nuncio to Angola and the bishops of Huambo as well as many meetings and conversations with Benedictine monks living in Huambo. During this visit a common solution was found for the future of the Benedictines in Angola. The community of St Benedict's monastery in Ewu-Esan, Nigeria, has decided to create an official foundation for this monastery in Huambo. It is a great joy and hope.
