On Friday 6 September, about 215 abbots, priors and superiors of the worldwide Benedictine Confederation gathered in Sant'Anselmo for two weeks for their quadrennial Congress, Congressus OSB 2024. They are joined by some 22 representatives of the Communio Internationalis Benedictinarum, representing monasteries and institutes of Benedictine women.

The opening of the Congress was marked by a meeting of the Synod of Abbots, a 19-member council representing the Congregations of the Confederation.

We are pleased that as the Congregation of the Annunciation we are actively involved in the work of the whole Confederation. Father Brendan Coffey (Glenstal) has been appointed Prior of Sant'Anselmo, Abbot Bernard Lorent (Maredsous) has been appointed President of AIM and Abbot President Maksymilian Nawara (Lubin) is once again a member of the Council of the Abbot Primate.
