The canonical visitation to the two monasteries of our congregation in the Holy Land took place from 29 January to 3 February this year. Abbot Maximilian, together with co-visitor Bro. Eucharius from Trier, also presided over the abbatial election immediately after the visitation. After five years of ministry, Abbot Bernhard Alter is relieved of his duties due to his age. His successor, elected by the community, was Abbot Nikodemus Schnabel OSB. He began his eight-year term on 4 February this year.
