In the elective Abbatial Chapter held in St. Thomas Benedictine Abbey, Kappadu / Kerala / India, Fr. Joji Ettaniyll has been elected abbot on June 29, 2021.

He is the successor of Rev. Fr. Abbot John Kurhianl the first abbot and one of the first  founders of the monastery.

Rev. Fr. Anthony Puthenpurackl O.S.B the President of the Silvestrian Congregation kindly accepted the delegation to preside over the election.
